can we invest in one at xt maybe have it that you pay money to use it or maybe have it so that you have to fight to get to it in a far section?

umm... that would probably be super expensive on xt's behalf. Atleast in my opinion

If you bought one yourself, and wanted to use it I don't think there would be a problem. However it must still meet the XT requirement for FPS. The other sucky thing (aside from the price) is I have not read if it has a built in IFF device. So once it's placed and active, how would you retrieve it?

Well you'd retrieve it by getting a buddy to run in front of it... running across its aim path... and than you have to approach it from the side? (or just run straight at it hoping to turn it off before it pummels you too bad?)

well it traces targets by what it has on the camera that's pointed in front of it. I take it would be REALLY easy to walk tot he side of it and shut it off. Or just unplug the computer that's running it :P

Depending on how it's mounted and how solidly built it is, you could probably knock it over with a well-placed shot too. It'd have to be made sturdy enough not to break from that though.

Well IF we had one we surely won't let kids shoot at it (regardless how durable it might be).

On another note, a D90 is mounted on that thing. And knowing how accurate those things are (I have one) you can walk right in front of it while it's shooting and all the shots would miss you. The D90 shoots all over the place.

The only explaination to it is that they modifed the D90 (because in stock form the gun is useless (the barrel is only about 2 or 3 inches long, after that the bb just starts to bounce around inside of the gun before it escapes.

I just meant if someone was to build thier own. You guys have enough stuff to repair. :P
In any case, as cool as something like that would be for XT, it'd remind me way too much of DarkZone. That'd bring back bad memories.

it'd be cool to have those things mounted in like a corner up high where it can see things pretty good. Only problem would be getting ammo in it, batteries, etc, etc. But still cool :D
