What happend to 'em anyways?

i think they were hacked. im not sure completly

They did get hacked, AFAIK. I believe there were security issues and a hacker decided to hack them just to show that he could.
Good way to introduce himself to the airsoft community, since he expressed that he was interested in getting into airsoft after telling everyone that he'd hacked the forums.

Lol, that's sad. I was under the impression that that guy had actually broken in with some real skil(z). So it was just a kid with a modem all along...

well i honestly like the look of the new forums. but it was a shame that we had lost all of our threads on the old ones. oh well. Time to get the good times going again :D

That and "I'm new to airsoft bla bla bla" and then someone replies by saying google.com

Yea there was an exploit on the old boards, Jaques from 204TASK sent quite a few emails warning the admin about it but I guess nothing was done to update to the newest version of the boards.

It wasn't really downloading a hack, it was a plugin for Firefox that allowed the user to see certain values, these values were stored in a cookie on the computer. so the 'hacker' actually had to use a fair bit of skill actually. coding wise. Although if he was just following directions from a website then yea not as good, but still.....

Still just as funny IMO. As it is, he didn't actually need to download anything at all, he just read it off another page. :P

well he still did have to download the plugin for firefox I think, or else he woudln't of known what values to edit for the cookies, its all up to the webmaster when it comes to customization, unless it was left 'stock' with defaults.

maybe the so called "hacker" is still among us... dun dun dun.

It's more than likely that if he isn't now, he will be, because he basically said he would be when the forum was back up. He said he wanted to get into airsoft...

Just to clear everything up, he wouldn't have had to download a program but there are some with a big 'hack forum now' button if he so desired.

http://milw0rm.com/id.php?id=871. As you can see, he really didn't have to use any skill at all just following that tutorial to the letter would get him full admin. Had he actually been responsible, he could have made a post from an admin account or something like that - but he chose to delete all the posts. What a prick!

I thought he did use p_phresh's account to post.
He used it to announce himself after he did it.

he also did use p.phresh's acount to post as well. thats why half the time i wasnt sure who was posting ;)

and here I thought that p.phresh was just schizophrenic and that explained why he needed to use two M9's. One beretta was the good beretta and the other one was the bad beretta.

i had a lot of suicide kills that game too.... kept walking outta re-spawn and getting shot, i couldn't see who it was till i looked at my left hand pointing the gun at my head. And i kept walking back to re-spawn getting pissed off cause i kept getting shot within mercy kill range.... dammit!

Yeah, that's actually what that exploit does. It logs you in as the first user created on the boards, which in XT's case happened to be p.phresh (who was an admin).
