![]() I'm looking to maybe purchase my own gun, and I was wondering where would be a good place to start looking for something that's moderately priced and good quality.

![]() you have to define Moderatly priced as airsoft can start almost bare minimum a 300$ and climb to thousands for a singular gun check out www.airsoftcanada.com they have a bunch of canadian retailers listed and lots of info if you just look for it its a good place to start.
*EDIT* sorry i may have mislead you. springers can be very affordable but unless your neo your probably gonna get schooled by an AEG

![]() Nonsense there's been plenty of games where I get far more kills with my springer than my main weapon...always seems to be when they think I'm reloading that they think I'm vulnerable

Handguns: If you want a gun that is well-built and easy to maintain, stick to Tokyo Marui or KSC/KWA - the KSC Glocks in particlular have a well-deserved reputations for being workhorses. Stay away from Western Arms as a first pistol - they are overly complicated and finicky, and parts are overpriced. Likewise any Tanaka guns, which are rare and while beautiful, are not designed to take propane. I'd avoid Maruzen; their pistols just aren't up to snuff with their Japanese competition (KSC and Marui), with the exception of the Maruzen P99 - that kicks ass. The KJW all-metal guns are generally good, but they it's seems like a toss-up as to whether you get a good gun or a lemon right from the factory - the quality control is not good, and they require higher-than-average tinkering and maintenence. Electric Guns: Stick to Tokyo Marui. These are the easiest to get parts for, the easiest to fix, and the least likely to break down (untill you think you "need" to start upgrading it ![]() Last edited by gypsy : 07-11-2005 at 11:19 PM. |

![]() One other thing to take into account, make sure you fit the gun you are buying. Myself I have small hands so a Desert Eagle is not really a good choice of a sidearm. If at all possible before you buy, ask on the boards (here or MAA) and see if anyone has that model. You can get feedback on the gun, and if your really nice people may actually let you hold and test fire theirs to see if it will work for you.

![]() MrWong is right, I've had games where I've gotten more kills with my springer than anything else too, but I've never gone in with just a springer, it's a backup.
Airsoft is expensive, I'd reccomend trying as many guns as you can before buying one. Play several times at XT and try the different packages; try some other guns in the range, and see what you like.
